in which case at least one other argument (an object of the same size)
must be supplied.

object

Ignored, if <code>object</code> is a list. Otherwise, one or more
<code>oce-class</code> objects of the same sub-class as the first argument.

Items within the <code>data</code> slots of the
objects that are supplied as arguments are averaged in a way that
makes sense for the object class, i.e. taking into account
the particular bad-data codes of that particular class.

Supports the analysis of Oceanographic data, including 'ADCP'
measurements, measurements made with 'argo' floats, 'CTD' measurements,
sectional data, sea-level time series, coastline and topographic data, etc.
Provides specialized functions for calculating seawater properties such as
potential temperature in either the 'UNESCO' or 'TEOS-10' equation of state.
Produces graphical displays that conform to the conventions of the Oceanographic
literature.
