loadSpatialData

Load datasets found in the directory previously set with
<code>setSpatialDataDir()</code>.
Only files matching <code>pattern</code> will be loaded.
By default, all <code>.rda</code> files are matched.
Core datastes available for the package include:<ul>
<li><code>TMWorldBorders</code> -- high resolution country polygons (higher
resolution than <code>SimpleCountries</code>)</li>
<li><code>NaturalEarthAdm1</code> -- state/province polygons throughout the world</li>
<li><code>USCensusCounties</code> -- county polygons in the United States</li>
<li><code>WorldTimezones</code> -- high resolution timezone polygons (higher
resolution than <code>SimpleTimezones</code>)</li>
</ul>These can be installed with <code>installSpatialData()</code>.

A suite of conversion functions to create internally standardized
spatial polygons data frames. Utility functions use these data sets to
return values such as country, state, time zone, watershed, etc. associated
with a set of longitude/latitude pairs. (They also make cool maps.)
