explainer.character: Explain method for character data types

Description

This is a explainer method for character vector.

Usage

# S3 method for character
explainer(X, xname = NULL, ...)

Arguments

X

a vector of character data type

xname

a placeholder for variable name

...

other parameters required

Value

Prints the following information on console:

  • vector name

  • type

  • number of distinct values

  • number of missing values

  • a frequency table and histogram. If counts of all the factor levels are less than half of length of X, then the histogram is scaled with maximum of 50

Details

This method removes all the missing values in x before computing the summaries.
