Validate if the value passed to the function is an integer or
not. To be considered as an integer, the value must have a length
of 1. The type of value can be a <code>integer</code> or <code>numerical</code>.
However, a <code>numerical</code> must have the same value
once casted to a <code>integer</code>.  A <code>vector</code> of
integers will returned <code>FALSE</code>.

multiple experiments to extract common regions. The size of the analyzed region
is adjustable as well as the number of experiences in which a feature must be
present in a potential region to tag this region as a consensus region.
