is_billable: Check whether a code is billable according to ICD-9-CM or ICD-10-CM

Description

Using the equivalent is_leaf() is preferred.

Usage

is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

# S3 method for icd9 is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

# S3 method for icd9cm is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

# S3 method for icd10 is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

# S3 method for icd10cm is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

# S3 method for default is_billable(x, short_code = guess_short(x), ...)

Arguments

x

input vector to test

short_code

single logical value which determines whether the ICD-9 code provided is in short (TRUE) or decimal (FALSE) form. Where reasonable, this is guessed from the input data.

Methods (by class)

  • icd9: Prefer 'leaf' to 'billable' for generality.

  • icd9cm: Prefer 'leaf' to 'billable' for generality.

  • icd10: Prefer 'leaf' to 'billable' for generality.
