migration.connectivity: Migration Connectivity Index

Description

The Migration Connectivity Index measures "the proportion of the total number of potential interregional flows which are not zero": $$I_{MC} = \sum_i \sum_{j \neq i} \frac{MC_{ij}}{n(n-1)}$$ where \(MC_{ij}\) is 0 if the flow from \(i\) to \(j\) is zero and let it be 1 otherwise.

Value

A number between 0 and 1 where zero shows no connections between regions.
